Submission Guidelines

Book Reviews: Book reviews may be anywhere from 750 to 2,500 words in length. Submissions exceeding 2,500 words (including notes, references, etc.) will not be considered for publication by the editorial board.

Research Articles: Research articles should derived from original and/or shared data in order to address a relevant question within a single subfield or across multiple subfields of anthropological study. These may be independent articles or excerpts from a senior thesis. Research articles may be anywhere from 2,500 to 8,000 words in length. Submissions exceeding 2,500 words (including notes, references, etc.) will not be considered for publication by the editorial board. If chosen for publication, research articles may be extended up to 10,500 words at the discretion of the editorial board members.

Reviews of Topical Literature: Reviews of topical literature should provide a critical analysis of various texts–ethnographic, philosophical, historical fiction, poetic, etc.–focused on an anthropologically relevant topic. Reviews of topical literature may be anywhere from 2,500 to 8,000 words in length. Submissions exceeding 2,500 words (including notes, references, etc.) will not be considered for publication by the editorial board. If chosen for publication, research articles may be extended up to 10,500 words at the discretion of the editorial board members.

Submissions should also use the AAA (American Anthropological Association) citation style. You may submit a paper in another citation style, but if the piece is selected for publication, the editorial committee requires that you submit a final copy in the AAA format.

Please send your submissions as a Word document attachment using the email address below. Include in the body of the email your full name, the university you attend, and your phone number.
